tempted...

[Loki]

I am so tempted to cut a trailer for my film... but.. it would be so.. pointless... a trailer for a short film? I mean.. that would just be like another short film..

but still.. it is tempting.

I did it for my latest. I thought it would be funny -- a trailer for a short. It made the short look like a big budget feature... which makes viewing the actual short sort of a let down for people, considering they just saw pretty much every cool shot in the trailer.

Do it. Post it. I think it will give you a new perspective on your short... or at least a shorter short.

I'm amazed at some of the promotion I see for short films. Press kits, trailers, web sites, one-sheets, T-shirts. I think it would be funny to have a trailer that's *longer* than your short.

We should put up a pool and see how long it takes, after cutting the trailer, we get the post, "I need to re-cut my short".

Why not do it for the practice? It's a great way to perfect your editing skills.
