Telly Awards

[DVX100Shooter]

Has anyone heard of or submitted works to the TELLY AWARDS? I just want to make sure they are legit. I pretty much think they are but just want to make sure. I submitted a project a while back and just got notification by mail that my piece won in one of the categories I entered it in. The catch if you want to call it a catch is that you have to pay for the award that looks similar to an Oscar or Emmy. The cost of the award is $150. Jus making sure this is not a scam to get my money but I have heard that the major awards that are televised, those winners have to pay for their awards as well.

Congratulations DVX100Shooter. Yes, the Telly Awards are legit. A co-worker of mine has one in her edit suite. It does look nice. The down side is you do have to pay for it. Congratulations once again.

Congrats, yep they're legit. Most awards require that you buy the trophie. You can also buy one for your client to act as a constant reminder of how cool you are so the next time they need a video...they'll know who to call.

Yes it's legit, yes you pay for the trophy if you win, and no it's not all that easy to win.

Congratulations! When do we get a peek at your winning entry?

Actually I had it up in the screen grabs section back in the first of the year. I can post it again...no problem. It will be called Reina Williams "Left Field". I will try to get it back on here by tomorrow at the latest. Thanks for the support!!!

[Blaine]

I look forward to seeing it. Thanks.

yeah I interned at a production company once and they have a whole shelf filled with telly awards from like the 80's to now. I thought they must be pretty easy to get.
