Tell me about the ME67

Can someone tell me when a ME67 is usefull and not? I got the head for only 50 bucks, i've still got to get the K6 for it, but I'd like to hear some people's reviews about it. What do you like about it? When is it a bad mic to use? Is it good in loud enviroments (like shooting rock bands), how about interviews? indoors?
how far away can you pick up the human voice outdoors with no or little wind?
Cheers folks.

Look, in general you are going to find that people are split into two categories regarding the ME series:

1. Category 1: People who love the mic
2. Category 2: People who hate the mic

I happen to be a type one with a lot of type two. I like that it is modular, but I hate the sound of the mic. $50 for that cap is a great price, but in general that mic sounds like crap. If you want my advice it is not usable in almost any situation if your goal is to get quality sound. I think that the mids are muddy, the highs non existant, and the lows impossible to balance. I would say that you got a great price, try to sell it and save the $250 you would drop on a K6 and invest in a 4073a or a Rode NTG1 with an Oktava. That's my advice. Do what you want with it.
