how does one go about getting a cover on itunes? won't they need the permission of the record label? would the record label and lady gaga get a cut of it? anyone know how this works?
I was wondering this too, but I think you just pay a fee and maybe a percentage to BMI, or ASCAP or something, whereever the rights are managed and handled.
I'm guessing that because I know to get famous songs for movies it's not that much $ if you use a cover. So maybe they can pay something like that (a fee) to cover the song and then have to pay a percentage for each single they sell or for each album they sell that has the song on it???
