tele-converters

Hi there all,
I am looking to get a 0.6 tele-converter, and maybe a 1.7 tele-converter as well.
My research has left me a little confused. One thing I do see is that Century Optics is an often recommended brand. However when I look at some sites, I see several different prices for 0.6 converters. Some around the $350 mark, and then some around the $800 mark. Can someone enlighten me on the difference?
Also, I see you can get different mounts, such as a baynonet mount. Now, I love the idea of a quick release mount, but does that mean I need to get a screw on bayonet converter to use this lens?

Thanks for your thoughts.

The Century Optics is the only tele-converter that is high quality. The rest of them will degrade your image horribly.

OK, but I'm still a little confused about the choices. There is one for around $400 which is a 0.6 converter but apparently only allows partical focus and you can't zoom with it.
I believe there is a 0.7 with full zoom through but it's bigger and more expensive.
Does anyone have experience with any of these who could make a recommendation? For example, bought the 0.6 but wish they'd gone the extra bucks for the full zoom through?

thanks
