Teddybear rail mount question

I have seen several threads of teddybear's rail clamps. They seem to work great. However, how are they mounted to the tripod base plate? It looks like at least two of the clamps are cut in half length wise. Teddybear, could you weigh in. I am working on completing my rail system for my 7d with your great designs. Has anyone else tried his rail mount clamp solution?

Hi Zach, just got back from a shoot doing a promo for a high end resort. Used 7d underwater, in a pool, over corals etc.

Give me a moment to get the shots of the DIY rails so you'll get a grip on it. :-)

Sorry for the delay, had to put together some pictures and graphics so you guys can better understand the construction.

I have since made another version incorporating an off the shelf QR plate. I use either aluminum or stainless steel rods with it.

Hope you can find this useful.

Holy Crap, Ted.
That is awesome. Thanks for the graphic. That better explains your construction by far.
