Techniques and Settings for Close up shot

With DVX100A, if i need to make some close up, and extreme close up shot on human's skin (face, body, fingers...etc), what kind of techniques and settings i need to be pay attention?

You'll likely want to have a close-up diopter lens. The DVX allows you to focus down to the surface of the lens, but you have to be in wide-angle to do it, so the objects you're shooting won't be very big -- they won't look super-close-up. But a diopter lens lets you zoom in and still be able to focus that close.

Look for something like the Canon 500D, the Century Precision Optics achromatic diopters, or, for a budget solution, a Nikon 6T and a 72mm->62mm step-down ring.

as always, thanks barry
i went to B&H and found both canon 500D and Century diopters are avaible, however, the canon 500D is about 200 bucks cheaper than Century ones, do you have any idea what's the differece between these two? thanks

Not really, no. I've been using the cheap Nikons, and they're working out well -- $100 for both (including the requisite 72-62 step-down ring). The Nikons require you to zoom in past z60 to avoid vignetting, because they're only 62mm. The Canon and Century shouldn't require any zooming in.

All are achromats. Don't get the non-achromatic versions, achromats are much higher quality. Canon makes cheaper diopters that are non-achromats, but the 500D is an achromat.

thanks for that advice

ok, now my other question still pending, is there a particular setting on DVX100A for close up shot on human (face)
and any makeup sugguestion for both male and female?
lightings?

sorry it seems a lot of questions, i'm trying to shoot my first MV, and my expiernce are limited on close up shot.
links would be nice if there's any disscussed thread :)
