Team Rebel Design Beholder DS-1 3 Axis Handheld Gimbal

My DS1 arrived yesterday with two sets of batteries - which should be good for a day of shooting if Beholder's claim of 3-4 hrs of runtime per charge holds up - and a nice case. I put the A7rII on it with the 10-18 in s35 mode and did a quick balance to tinker with it a bit, after walking around the house and chasing my dog for 10 minutes I'm already very happy with the size/weight. It looks like a chunky metal device but it's really light in hand. This thing is going to be cake to carry around in my sling pack when shooting events or a walk and talk shot. Going to spend sometime today setting it up for the A7rII and A7s, it's cold and rainy (52 is cold in Tampa), so no real shooting until sometime next week after the rain passes.

One thing I'm impressed by is despite the size and capacity difference on the DS1 compared to the nebula4000 is the DS1 doesn't seem much heavier and it packs down into a case that's really about the same size.

Would having a small cage on the body (movcam + a7s for example) help when attached with front heavier lenses?

does anyone use the ds1 with a gh4 with the extra stand handles?

?

I made my own.
I really like it. It gives me more of the control I like on most types of shots. I also find the two-handled approach helps with smooth walking.

The rig I made looks almost exactly like this one:

I'm not wild about that other one on eBay because you can't just set it down 'as is' like you can with this one. And also I don't think I would dig the angled handles. But I bet it is lighter - so it does have that going for it.
