Team America

Rich Lee

I shoot Pirates.
I saw this movie saturday. its hysterical! i highly recommend. There is a sex scene and vomit scene that made my laugh like a complete fricken retard...with tears and all...made may abdomen hurt it was so funny!

Re: Team America

The funny thing about this movie is what the original concept was. Trey and Matt got a hold of the script for "The Day After Tommorrow" early in it's production, so they set out to make the exact same movie, except with marionettes, and they were going to release it on the same day. The studio put a stop to this, so they threw the Team America script together.

Re: Team America

Yeah, this movie definitely bests Shaun of the Dead as the funniest movie of the year. I was hating my appreciation of low-brow humor through that whole vomit thing, which was the hardest I've laughed in a really really really really really long time.

Re: Team America

I can't wait for this one. I've been looking forward to it since the first stills came out.

Re: Team America

I saw a behind the scenes for this movie, and to be honest, I didn't want to see it, but now I reallllly want to...It looks awesome...and funny as hell.

Re: Team America

just saw it...funny as hell. i'm still in awe at how they can get away with using the actors in it though....lmao

Re: Team America

the first time we hear that speech in the bar with the drunken old man then to have that vomit scene right after in the alley made my cry...so damned funny. i can t wait to have it on dvd.

Re: Team America

I wasn't particularly proud of myself for laughing so hard at the vomit scene, but damn that was funny!

Re: Team America

I thought the soundtrack was one of the funniest I have heard in a long time.

Re: Team America

My two cents: It was only half good. Ironically, in their attempt to spoof Jerry Buckheimer films, their movie devolved into the same formulaic explosion/gunfight sequences that make Buckheimer movies so crappy. Unless, of course, you think noisy cinema with lots of fireballs and blood are the height of film artistry. And I know a lot of you on this board think it is. ;)

Re: Team America

im 95% sure that ALL of the stuff with Gary in DC was shot with a DVX. I remember them runing around in the production office going..we need to shoot some stuff in DC...blah blah blah...to expensive...blah blah...they will never let use do it...blah...shoot it with videoo....blah blah blah...dvx100...24p....rent one...

anyway, i will ask around but i feel like that they did in fact go with the dvx cause it was the only way they could get that close to a monument with the puppet and not get in trouble.

i was so wanting to say i have one and go shoot it for you...

anyway...peace out

Re: Team America

PualK, I totally know what you mean, I felt similarly about kill bill (even though NO one agrees with me)

I feel the difference here is that I still found those scenes funny. U always risk devolving into the crap ur satirizing, but I laughed at those scenes, I weep during Bruckheimer's :'(

;D

Re: Team America

I walked out of the theater and my face hurt from laughing so hard...I'm always amazed at how stupid...yet funny they can be...They have perfected that "shock" humor...where you're not expecting something and it hits, and you can't stop laughing!!

Very funny movie. And the political undertones are really what it's about...

Hell...any movie where Michael Moore dies is great... ;D

Re: Team America

I didn't think it was nearly as funny as the South Park movie, but it had its moments of hilarity. The mock Bruckheimer stuff was funny for a while but it got tired by the end of the flick. Overall though it was pretty funny.

Re: Team America

I thought it was interesting that they kept the U.S. Prez out of it. Too easy a target? :D
