Teaching Nino Golf

I mentioned in another thread that I'm in TX. My co-worker Nino (her last name, and what I've called her for forever) has been super awesome modeling for me. I took her to the driving range on Saturday to learn how to play golf. It turned into an awesome photo session and I had some stuff I was really happy with. The location wasn't super pretty and I've been cleaning some of the photos up in PS. I'm not close to done but I thought I would share them anyway.

Also, we went to White Sands today for a sunset shoot. I got some awesome shots that I plan on sharing once I get them processed.

Enjoy!

Very nice shots Dan.

I'm wondering if I play with a couple of them with Lab Color, if you'd mind me posting those?

Larry

Thank you. I was using an SB800 off camera right on most, except #4 it was on camera left. Shooting Full to 1/4 power on most shots. Manual mode triggered with Poverty Wizards.

Larry, feel free to use some. Might want to post your before/after results in the Lab Color thread you started as I plan to add many more images to this one and I fear it might be quite full with the additional images I'm adding.

Here are some from White Sands. I have more but these are the ones that I've chucked out of LR so far.

Wowser! sexist hot girl comments aside, that second set is fantastic. I love #4, #5 (although I think it would be better if the horizon line was straight), and my favorite = #6. Great job Dan.

And... where are those sands? El paso area? I live in TX, and I've never seen anything like that...

Thanks Ryan. I really enjoyed this shoot a lot. We had a great time and Nino was fantastic to shoot. Not to toot my own horn, but we have some shots in a super short low cut blue dress that were right at sunset that make these look silly. I'm hoping to get a few edited in the next few days...so stay tuned. Unfortunately its Monday, so work calls and photos have to wait a a little longer.

The location is White Sands National Monument, about 1 hour-ish east of Las Cruces on Hwy70 in New Mexico.

Dan,
Can you give me a link to these poverty wizards you speak about. And I almost took a trip to white sands. My sis stays in Albuquerque, I got some awesome photos of Sandia Peak though, I will post some in the Nikon Forum.

I only have misfire issues at distances longer than like 50 feet. I haven't tried shooting though walls, but have heard mixed reviews. There is also an antenna hack that I haven't done yet, but would like to. I've read numerous people getting a dramatic improvement from that hack. That combined with replacing the crappy batteries that ship with them allow a much longer range and shooting though walls like you were requesting.

That said, you are spending like less than $75, even with the hack......so if you need PW's then save up an get em. Personally, I love my GI triggers. No issues at all with them, and when I'm in range I never have a misfire.

Here are a few more from White Sands. Too many to edit at one time. The only thing that dove me nuts was once I got them on the macbook I could see all the footprints in the last photos......it's KILLING me that we didn't move back like 15 feet for that last shot. I'm going to try and clean it up with PS a bit, but would have been much easier to get it right in camera. Oh well. Hope everyone enjoys.

Number 1 is ALMOST great. If it wasn't for her facial expression/angle, I'd absolutely love it. It just doesn't do her justice with that expression.

#2 is fukking awesome. No flash on that one?

No flash on the second. We did a few natural silhouettes and a few with flash. Also did a few shots with just the natural light since it was so good at the time.

Holy ****! O_o

That 3rd one is just incredible.

With a little more dramatic light I would say the same for the first. Here it´s a little flat for my taste. But still amazing work.

Dan, I would be happy to clean up the footprints for you, free of charge. The only thing I ask is that you tell cutie that Matt says, "Holy shiets, hot babe alert!"
