Tax Return Time

We have our share of problems, drought being the worst. Too many people and not enough water is a big deal out here. Still, it's a great place to live. We woke up to 2 feet of snow on monday. Today, it's about 65 degrees and all the snow is gone. I don't just mean off the streets. It's completely gone.

The beer here is the same as everywhere else. SOme of the microbrews are pretty good. Being the home of Coors is nothing to be proud of, although I hear they are merging with our Canadian brothers at Molson. Maybe you folks can teach them how to make that swill taste more like beer.

Hehe... You know, it was one of those spontaneous moments. It's like the poetist movement in thirties - free chaining of thoughts:

Montana -> Red October -> Hmm, I wonder... -> check out Amazon (thanks anyway, Jim) -> find shipping to Canada is 50% more than the movie itself -> taking a coffee break -> quick dash to Borders down the street -> I got the damn DVD!

What can I say, this site is dangerous! Makes me spend money on movies I already have! Jarred, are you insured against lawsuits of the 'you made me do it' kind? You should have a disclaimer that any financial hardship associated with reading the stuff here is not your responsibility! :grin:
 
I have heard good things about CO; my wife's Aunt's and Cousins live there; but what the hell will I do with a 40 Sloop there?
 
I got it bad. I get the snow of canada, minus quite a few degrees of warmth. Then add in the earthquakes, we got a big one last year. And the mosquito's, blood sucking bastards.
9 and half months of winter, 2 and a half of summer. Oh and fires are so bad that usually we are smoked out for a couple weeks in the summer.

I wanna move to montana, where my grandma lives off of flathead lake.

You would be very amused at the boats people buy here, only to put them in oversized puddles that they laughingly call "lakes" You could canoe across in ten minutes, but they need a cigarette boat.

I grew up in NYC and we had a cabin on Lake Hopatcong in NJ. We used to take the boat to go shopping and go to dinner. Everyone had a dock. I miss that.

You might actually see some snow in NC, John, if you like that sort of thing.

Of course, here in Carlotta, all the snow this year went around us in a ring, and we got a light dusting one time the whole winter. We had full foliage by March 30th.
 
T minus 2hr and 12 min ... Get those taxes in and postmarked by 11:59 pm. I went to the post office to mail a package and what did I see? (Besides the madness of people turning in their taxes.) I saw people actually picking up the forms to go home and fill them in! What madness has to drive you to wait until 3:30 pm on the day they are due to go pickup the forms and do you taxes! And this is the topper, my wife works at a bank, and someone actually asked her if she knew a CPA who was available, and if my wife knew what forms the CPA might need.

That's the good ol' american for you! (No wonder we are in the sate we're in.)
