Hi, I have had a tascam dr100 mk2 for like 2 years, but i haven't used it that much, and plus i am an amateur when it comes to sound, one of the things that annoys me the most is the battery time, it doesn't last that much, maybe a alternative would be the solution, but I was thinking about selling it and buying an zoom h5.
would i be making a nice trade? how the two of them compare?
thank you.

I have used both and to me they are pretty much the same.

The Tascam was easier to navigate, but the audio you'll get from these is going to be pretty much identical.

You can extend battery life by using an external battery/charger. Some of the cell phone chargers have a 5v output that will power the Tascam.

No advantage to one over the other. If you want an improvement then sell the DR-100 and move up to the DR-70D. You can easily externally power it, and it's a nice little machine for the money.
