Tascam dr-10l pro doubt

Hi guys, I use the Tascam dr-10l pro with a shotgun mic conected to it and it then connects to my camera. This is kind of a silly question, but how are you placing your Tascam dr-10l pro on your camera? It only comes with a clip belt, not a hotshoe.

Probably not a good way because it’s intended as a lav mic bodypack recorder. I’m surprised it will power a shotgun mic and I assume you must be using the headphone jack to feed the camera which isn’t proper either.

Zoom F2 would be more appropriate but since you already have invested in this setup the most common diy hack would be Velcro tape.

I’m surprised it will power a shotgun mic.
That was my initial reaction when reading the query.
That said, like anything else that does not have a native mounting option, Velcro.

There are many AA battery shotgun mics (MKE 600 is my fave) that could go into the 3.5 with a XLR adapter.

I used the MKE 600 with a Zoom H1 for like 8 years.

He could also be using 3.5mm jack mics that are intended for photo cameras. Although those need more power than what a lav mic needs.

Odd choice, I wouldn't be surprised if he got it because it was small and had 32 bit float which is the answer to all our needs that and 8k. :p The DR10L is really intended for one purpose, a lavalier recorder. Oh well...

At first when I read "and it then connects to my camera" I thought he might have meant it's literally connected to the camera with some adhesive or cable tie because outputting audio from it seems so unlikely but now IDK.

I do the same thing. I use pro mics with a phantom power box connected to a tentaclesync track e for 32 bit float. The suggestion above is the way I have worked out the mounting of the track e. I went through a series of wireless mic transmitter mounts and modified them but Wooden camera just came out with some plates for the tentacle sync e you should check out.

Also try a camera ssd holder with jaw clamps.
