I have been using panasonic pq tape stock on my dvx100. I just bought another cam and I want to use mq. My question is; is it was ok if I switched to mq stock on the old cam so both cams have the same stock? If it IS ok, should I clean the heads before I do this?
This question is dealt with extensively at this site. Look at past threads for more details. The short of it is stick with the same stock all the time. If you are switching stocks, you might want to clean the heads first. However, the head cleaner tapes on the market are not ideal because of the abrasive effect on the heads. There is a thread:
