Hi there
New DVX user here, so I first of all I want to thank all the people who contribute to this discussion board. I did a lot of research here before buying my DVX, and this site confirmed that it was the way to go. I couldnt be happier with it, so thank you all.
On to my question then:
How much does tape choice matter? I am getting conflicting answers across the web, so any sound advice on the matter would be highly appreciated.
I have my first gig shooting an indoor concert in a couple of weeks. Will one tape be better than another? The shoot is more for documentation purposes than viewing purposes , so topnotch image quality/dropped frames isn't my top concern. Can I just go with some tapes from Amazon that are 10 for $23? If tape-choice does matter, does anyone have a recommendation for a tape that is better in lowlight (and maybe wont kill me in the wallet)?
Also, I am reading that it is not a good idea to mix tape brands over the course of the lifetime of the camera. Is this still true? If so, any recommendations on the tape brand to go with?
Thank you all again for any help you might be able to offer.
