Tape of choice

I heard the Sony tapes suck, and I've had to clean after I tried them.

What is the best bang for the buck? I normaly buy the stock Panasonics at the local store.

IMHO if you are going to shoot anything worth viewing forget about banging bucks and go exclusively with the Panasonic AY-DVM63PQ tape or, for about a dollar more the AY-DVM63MQ. I don't think you will be disappointed with either one (I like the master tape for the extra buck). A lot of people seem to feel that you should pick your brand and stay with it (and I'm in full agreement with that).
