Tape eject mechanism hangs?

I just got my new 100B and am busy in the process of learning it, so I don't know if this is an issue or not.

When I push the eject button, the tape door does not come all the way out. It comes about 1/3 of the way and I have to pull it out all the way before the tape carriage moves.

Is this normal that you should have to pull the tape door out manually?

The wonderfully written, extensive manual that came with the camera, does not of course, say whether you have to pull the door out or not.

Thats completely normal, so no worries. On another note due to the new design you cannot close both the carriage and the door at the same time so make sure that left the tape carriage move down before you close the outer door or else you will damage it.

Thanks! I can't tell you how reassuring it is to have someone validate it. I'm on the financial edge to be able to afford the camera and the support equipment and getting a lemon was the nightmare from hell.
