Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 DI VC USD Lens

I've seen some samples, looks very very good, will have hands on soon, nice and creamy bokeh for such a lens, reasonably priced and finally IS on this lens class. Hope the AF holds up with the competition as I do a lot of phogotraphy.
Just wish their matching 70-200/2.8 was better, I think a new version is supposed to be coming too.

If this lens has great optics the Canon vII looks pretty expensive and without IS. The vI from Canon is still a great lens. We are at the hair splitting level of improvements in many ways.

The 70-200/2.8 from Tamron may be good value, but in terms of IQ and build quality leaps behind competition from Nikon and Canon.

I was only referring to the 70-200/2.8. I think Tamron's new lens has decent IQ but most likely the build quality won't be higher than their other offerings in this class. I still have the predecessor of this lens, the 28-75/2.8 which is ok but no match for Nikon or Canons competition. Really don't understand why Tamron is not introducing truly high grade pro zoom lenses since zoom lenses has been their specialty since ever.
