Tamron 15-30mm 2.8 VC for full frame

Did this fly under people's radar?

15-30mm
constant f2.8
Vibration control
Full frame (speedboost it for wider/faster)
performance should be excellent if held to tamron's newage standards.

compared to the sigma 18-35 1.8, this thing could be more attractive to me for the stabilization, wider end, and speedboosterability

No price yet, feels like it will be under a grand, but then again it's pretty well aimed at the nikon 14-24, so could be closer to that price range.

I've got my eyes on that one too... If they leave the VC on the sony A version (if they're making one?) it could be worth getting in that for my FS700 and A7s. Then you'd have both VC and AF. Would be sweet.

Doesn't use of an A-mount lens on e-mount video cameras require you to be at f/5.6 to autofocus? I seem to remember exploring using A-mount lenses and then realizing you don't get the apeture benefit because SLT requires a higher aperture to autofocus.

Yeah but a speed booster of a f/2.8 is going to be about f/2.0, so Sigma will still be slightly faster. Speedbooster would also widen the FOV so it would become an 11-22mm lens, which really isn't that comparable to a 18-35mm.

So yeah, if you want to use the lens with & without a speedbooster, it means you can have two lenses (11-22mm & 15-30mm) in one body. But if you want something that covers the entire 20mm range & is extremely fast, Sigma will own that territory.
