"As a director and his crew shoot a controversial film about Christopher Columbus in Cochabamba, Bolivia, local people rise up against plans to privatize the water supply."
I saw this film tonight, and was floored by it. From a film maker's perspective, I could somewhat relate to the story, and fear it. It's one of those situations when you're on a shoot that's not going so well, and you have to decide what's best for the production. But on an entirely different level.
The film was featured at several major film festivals, and was Spain's entry for the Academy Awards.
It stars Gael García Bernal (Diarios de motocicleta), written by Paul Laverty, and directed by Icíar Bollaín
It's making it's last few appearances in Los Angeles, but it making it's rounds throughout the globe. If it's playing near you, see it right away.
