Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby

[Sean Michael]

This one has piqued my interest.

So, anyone seen Talladega Nights? Is it as funny as it looks?

[ramsaur]

saw it yesterday and was just very funny! i actually enjoyed it. On the trailer it looked like it was going to suck and not be so great but turned out to be better than what I thought.

(SPOILER)

If you get offended or do not like gay scenes then do not watch this film. Does have a gay guy with a few gay scenes.

[Bsmith]

just another will ferrel movie, I got some good laughs in there.

tho I have to say that preview of ferrels new movie where his life is narrated looked pretty bad.

actually that one looks interesting.

i've only heard good things about this movie. The critics seem to like it as well. No real buildup to anything major... just a constant steady funny.

I'm not a Will fan, but laughed at the trailers so I went to see it thinking I'd like it. I laughed at the same scenes from the trailers and not much else. Big Sascha Baron Cohen fan but also, that's no reason to see "Ali G, In da House".

i.e. Dont go thinking it'll be good 'cause of Mr Cohen.

BUt I'm sure the fans of the genre will enjoy it.

Cohen is awful in it. He cant pull off a French accent. It was OK, defenitely not good though. I live in the south (though am canadian), so I enjoyed the mockery of redneckism.

[Aaron Marshall]

I thought it was funny. Many of the scenes went on too long. Forced improvisations make a few scenes stale. The baby jesus scene is a good example of that. One line I thought was awesome was, "I piss excellence." I also liked the conversation about how highlander won an academy award for the best movie ever made.

I saw a lot of Will Ferrel's Bush impersonations come through into Ricky Bobby.
