Talk Show Studio Lighting

I'm starting an internet talk show with a set design similar to your average late night tv talk shows. We will have a host at a desk, co-host and guest or two on a couch.
I would like to use flourescent lights (kino or flolight) to light the entire set due to their simplicity and cost. I've used flourescents for years for interviews but in this talk show set up, I need the lights to be placed 10- 12 feet away from the subjects.
Any reason I shouldn't be using these lights other then the obvious loss of light with such soft lights at long distances?

Does anyone know if the dimmable flolights greaty change color temp as they are dimmed?

Thanks
Jared
