Talent releases?

How's everyone doing tonight!?
I have a question about talent releases,
when should i get my actors to sign them? do you need them all the time or just when you have a distribution deal?
I want to submit my new short film to some festivals, so before i do that do i need them to sign something?
and, where can i get such a release? can i just print it off the internet and change it for my production or what?

Here's what I've been using:

PERFORMANCE RELEASE



FOR GOOD AND VALUABLE CONSIDERATION, I hereby grant to (your name) for (so&so productions) (“Producer”) and to its licenses, assignees, and other successors-in-interest all rights of every kind and character whatsoever in perpetuity in and to my performance, appearance, name and/or voice and the results and proceeds thereof (the “Performance”) in connection with the film currently entitled (Debbie does nothing II) (“Picture”), and hereby authorize Producer to photograph and record (on film, tape or otherwise), the Performance; to edit same at its discretion and to include it with the performance of others and with sound effects, special effects and music; to incorporate same into Picture or other program or not; to use and to license others to use such recordings and photographs in any manner or media whatsoever, including without limitation unrestricted use for purposes of publicity, advertising and sales promotion; and to use my name, likeness, voice, biographic or other information concerning me in connection with the Picture, commercial tie-ups, merchandising, and for any other purpose. I agree that Producer owns all rights and results of my services rendered in connection here with this Picture.

Man, where'd you get that? It looks EXACTLY like the one I use.
 
I think I got it from you now that you mention it, LOL! If it wasn't you then it was from someone else around here but I think it was you. I started a thread asking for a copy of some release forms and a few people posted, PM'd and emailed me copies of theirs.
