Taking the plunge

I am buying the dvx100a this month after a fair amount of lurking (here and other forums), reading reviews and comparing the different cameras. I don't need any arm-twisting, I'm quite sure this is the best camera for my needs (indie/doc films, tv commercials, cgi effects, filming for its own sake).

My question is what accessories or other items I either need or should have. Extra battery, case, tripod and mic are givens, and I have the hardware and software for editing and burning. If you have any lens, light, sound etc. recommendations then lay 'em on me.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times, I searched and didn't find an answer. If there's a sticky for 'must-haves', please let me know. Thanks.

Re: Taking the plunge

Getting that UV filter first is so key. They really should include with camera purchase or at least tell you to do. I saw a woman using a XL1s on a shoot with no UV lens. I told her 2 times to get something on it, "yeah yeah" Several months later she had not and her lens had a huge scratch in it. :'(
