Hello everyone!
I just finished cutting my new short and I'm figuring out the best way to export it for festivals. I usually shot with my good old DVX but I got a MarkII (1080 24p)for this project. Pretty different beast and I let myself get fooled by the pretty picture and shot some night scenes with it. On a TV, it looks good but it's a tad noisy on a computer screen (I guess the contrast curve and overall brightness does help mask the noise).
I was thinking of running the short through neatvideo and spitting out a cleaner 1080 version
or exporting a scaled-down 720p version straight from compressor (so maybe the image would look better)
or running (as above) through neatvideo and scaling down afterwards to 720p
I'm more of a production man, and even though I take an active role in post, the fabulous world of pixels and noise sometimes go over my head! It would really be appreciated if someone could help me out on this!
Thank you!
