Taking a DVX through airport security

Hey guys,

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, so here it is. I'm going to be flying out to Chicago for my grandma's funeral in a few hours, and I wanted to take my DVX with me to chronicle peoples' memories of her. The only thing that stands in my way is the TSA.

So here's my question, will running my DVX through the scanner damage any part of the camera?

Thanks

It shouldn't damange your camera. I've taken mine overseas and had no trouble with security and running it through that scanner.

I've taken my HVX through several dozen airports in the last year; I always just put it in the bin and send it through the scanner, it's never had a problem.

And they might very well check by hand in that special room they have for suspicious characters.

Or mabe I'm just a suspicious character and it had nothing to do with the camera.

It would have been interesting if I had taken it through after shooting some footage at the rifle range....the inevitable residue would have scared the machine.

before they scan the dvx, be sure to ask if the machine will be able to detect a bomb if the bomb was in the shape of a camcorder.
