TAKE VIDEO/AUDIO TS in DVD FOR EDITING

Hi,

I hope someone can help me to provide an answer on how take video/audio TS files from DVD and make them possiblie for editing in the Vegas timeline. I do know that I will lose some resolution.
I had deleted the original video/audio in my hard drive. The only source I have left is from DVD copy that I still have.
I tried to open the video/audio TS files and put them on the timeline without any success-Vegas does not support them. Is there any other software to process this?

Thanks.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but renaming the .VOB to .MPG will allow you to drop the file in Vegas.

However, the sound is multiplexed (usually) and won't show up. At least I've never been able to get the audio to appear.

I finally gave up and just played the DVD and captured it through my ATI video card. :( Not particularly good.

In all the DVD authoring I've done, there aren't any TS streams, they're all VOB's. And you should be able to drag and drop VOB files right onto the timeline (unless it's a copy-protected DVD).

You may have to register your MainConcept MPEG-2 plug-in first, but Vegas will notify you of that when you first try to import a .VOB.

I think you'll probably have to tell it to import "*.vob" so it'll see the vob files on the DVD.

Thank you everyone.

I have tried to put the VOB files on the timeline, the video shows up and can be reedited. However, like GenJerDan has mentioned, the audio can not be found anywhere.
