Tagging in Premiere

I've been burning through a lot of tape and transferring them to my hard drive. I have about 350 clips (so far) and around 12 hours of footage. I activated the organizer and before I start haphazardly tagging, I wonder if there is a standard approach to tagging? What are your thoughts?

*Update*
I did a lot of online research and came across Dublin Core Metadata Initiative, which had a LOT of ways to catalog data related stuff. I modified what I thought was applicable to video footage and came up with this: <Actor>, <Location>, <Subject>, <Date>

Example Tag: John Smith, Liberty Park, Earth Day, 04-25-10

This will provide a way to search and categorize my clips. I chose to add a date to the tag because if I edit and save the clip, the new date will replace the old date for the file. Happy Tagging!

...whats wrong with peoples production and pre-production methods? All i see are people not doing things properly and ending up with loads of footage they cant use or organize.

Correct pre and post production methods.

Sorry about yesterday, lets say i was having a bad day.

In all honesty, you should have a PA with a clip board and a clapper and write down each shot on a piece of paper and what scene it is and where it is on the tape/card file name.

This way, you're not presented with a bin loaded with footage you're not too sure is good or bad.
