Tackling my first short (HDV) Need a bit of help

Alright.

I have FCP HD. (v4.5)

But....in order to capture HDV footage, I had several options. I now have FCP Express HD, which as we know captures HDV.

Now there are a couple questions.
I have studied FCP a lot, and have edited little things here and there. I have read books on it, and watched video tutorials. Now its time to apply all of this.

A couple questions:
a) Can I load all my HDV clips into FCP HD rather than edit in Express?
It says no, but it shows up in the viewer, and it seems like I can edit? I just want to make sure its not in vain,

b) About rendering. Every clip in the viewer says it needs rendering. Why is this needed? What should I know about handling this? As in question A. I don't want to start editing in FCP HD instead of Express.

c) I have 2 audio tracks per each clip. Why is this?

Thanks for all your help.

I don't think it's offically supported yet(?) but try a short test.
If nothing else you should be able to export from Express and export in an HD format FCP can use.
Red line means there's a mis-match between clips and sequence (size, fps, compression format, etc) Check sequence settings. Once you've rendered you should be fine until you make major changes.

2 audio tracks. Assumes Stero unless told not to.

There's no support for HDV in FCP presently. Do a google search for HDV FCP and you'll find a variety of workarounds.
