tabletop boozing with flashlights

I am trying to learn the tabletop art of lighting. I had an idea and I wanted to shoot a still so I can shoot it in motion later.

Camera specs: 300d with a china made m42 adapter, a really cheap 50/f1.8 m42 lens (pardon any flair).
1/50th shutter (I think) handheld. ISO 800, lens was open. Shot jpeg. AdobeRGB space. I cropped to 16x9 in iphoto.

Set:
Glass with some booze in it, the ice has allready melted too much. It was sitting on a semi-transparent piece of black glass, lighted from the bottom with a flashlight (seriously), the light fall off in the back if from a 50w halogen desk lamp.

I know it could be better but I used what I could. When I shoot it again, I would like to use some real lights.

Drink Responsibly.

Yeah the bottom light could use some diffusion, the ice cubes are a bit hot.

A site that I always reccomend for still photography is Strobist. It's gotten me a lot more interested in still photography than I would be otherwise. Check it.

I think that the saturation could be turned up a bit on the red X in the white box. Other than that, it looks like all the other white boxes with a red X when I can't see a posted picture.

Seriously, does anyone have a pc clue as to why I can usually see posted images but sometimes cannot? Glad I'm not the only one but it is still annoying.

thanks for feedback.I dont know why I cant see it on my PC (Vista) but I can see it fine right now on my iMac, Maybe because its a tiff?

I think my hpx500 has more S/N than my 300d, What do you think?
