tablet with hdmi Input?

Looking for a tablet or 2 n 1 that has a HDMI Input so I can connect to a camera? Cost is a concern as I don't see using this a lot verses a monitor but it is what I want in a tablet. Any suggestions?

As far as I know, none. The best you can do is get an external device for input. There are some devices for Thunderbolt and for expansion cards. Black Magic has one for USB input, think it takes SDI and HDMI but I might be wrong.
 
No computer or tablet ever built has native HDMI input. Magewell makes USB 3.0 capture dongles, HDMI and SDI options, might suit your needs.

You need a tablet that supports USB OTG, a USB OTG cable, and an Android app that talks with your camera. It won't be nearly as good as a field monitor though; roughly 15 FPS with significant lag.
 
Thanks all for responding, kind of couldn't believe I couldn't find this feature (still 2017) and with your insights I think I'll quit looking. Seems to be a shame. I've tried the USB OTG cable in the past on an old tablet, like you say the 15fps lag just doesn't make it a feasible tool

There were some laptops which had HDMI inputs. But they were quite rare, and quite expensive.
 
This is because having the input classes the device differently for import in certain countries, leading to higher costs. It's the same reason some devices come with a tiny wifi adapter instead of having it built in. Even if it's included in the box there is a different import fee.
