T2i and Final Cut Pro - which settings?

I'm getting ready to do my first film in Final Cut Pro. All shot with T2i at either 1920X1080p30 or 1920X1080p24. (If I think I might go to film eventually, I'll shoot 24)

I'm just getting into DSLR filmmaking and I'm not sure which project setting is best for the T2i in Final Cut Pro. I plan on converting all my clips to Prores 422 first in compressor.

here are the available project settings:
XDCAM HD422 1920X1080p30 (or 24), CBR or VBR
Apple intermediate codec or Apple Prores 422 1920X1080p24 only
HDV - 1080p30 Firewire Basic or HDV - 1080p24 Firewire Basic
DVCPRO HD - 1080p30 or DVCPRO HD 1080pA24 (?)

I assume its 1080p and not 1080i (really showing my lack of knowledge here I know)

Sorry for such a lame question but I think the answer will set me free...

not sure if its cool to piggyback my own thread but I'm also curious what difficulties I might encounter with my 30 fps really needing to be 29.97 and that sort of stuff... will I lose audio sync?

I'm also wondering if there is much visual difference between prores 422 and prores 422 (LT). They look about the same but the light version I could swear has a little more granularity or noise in it.

Not really any difference on the small screen, and HDTVs, between ProRes and ProRes LT. Only a trained eye and scopes will show you the difference. I use LT for my T2i work.

As for sequence settings, none of the above. You want to convert to ProRes, but NOT use a ProRes sequence setting? Why not? Use a ProRes setting. If you have FCP 6 or 7, the sequence setting will be automatically be set once you add the first clip.

by the way, I blew up the Prores 422 LT and Prores 422 on top of each other in FCP at 800% and though it was subtle, I could see that the Prores 422 LT was slighly softer. I'm guessing I'm going to go with the Prores 422. Seems like the file size is about 30% extra and they both seem to run in realtime on my measley macbook core 2 duo.
