System configuration for P2

I am a vegas user and getting ready to buy the HPX 170. I understand that there are some "limitations" when working with DVCPRO HD in Vegas. So, could someone suggest a system configuration that has proved pretty reliable when working with Premiere Pro?

Just get as fast a CPU and as much RAM as you can. That's general advice for any NLE.

The limitations with Vegas aren't because of system specs.

Will Premiere Pro output HD video and audio via firewire through camera to be displayed on a monitor? Or will I need a card when working with DVCPRO HD like needed in FCP?
 
As of right now, you will need a card (unless you work on an HDV timeline and preview through an HDV camera). I've been urging them to change this, though.
