Syncing audio and video PP CS3

I'm hoping this is a rather simple question but I'm not having very much luck doing this.

I have recorded video with the 7D, sound with the H4N, and i would like to sync the audio and video in post. I have done this in AVID before with ease, where you simply find the slate marks and use a function to sync the audio and video so that both files are tied together, and not just linked in the timeline. I know i could drag and drop them in the timeline and line them up, but this way is very time consuming and if i need to delete or reimport the files into the timeline, i will have to start all over again.

Is there a way to to this in premiere pro cs3?

thank you!

For others who are interested, did a google on this and still nothing came up. I will assume unless there is a reply that this is one of the downsides of Premiere Pro CS3.

Chime in if you know how this is done, thanks boys n gals!

Create a new sequence for every clip, then sync it up manually in that sequence. Now the sequences are in the bin and you can drop the sequences into the timeline as needed.

Depending on what you're trying to do, another option is to select the video & audio clip (e.g. shift select) and use clip=>synchronize , once it's synchronized you can use clip=>link and they should hold their relationship. You can also use this in combination with Huy's suggestion above (nested sequences) if you need them in other sequences depending on how your project is set up. Have a look at the manual, there should be instructions there

Yeah, i was able to do the synchronize, but then if i delete the file off of the timeline, it's no longer attached to the audio.

I think Huy's suggestion for Premiere is probably the best, just will be very cluttered when you're dealing with many files.

Maybe it would be best to do this method and work one scene at a time and then import that into the project timeline.

Thanks guys.
