Synching sound in Final Cut Pro

Okay, I am extremely green and very new to FCP. I am editing using FCP 4 and I have transferred all the sound from my DAT into Pro-Tools and now have it in FCP, as I understand it I take the footage and put them into the timeline and sync up with the appropriate sound, NOW after having done so, everythign's in sync, and I create a new bin how do I save the clips with the sound attached? For some reason when I copy the clip and paste it into the new bin the sound is SEPARATE from the film. It's a seperate clip. Can anyone help tell me what I need to do in order to keep the sound attached to the clips?

Thank you to anyone who responds

Try exporting the 'married' A/V clip as a self contained Quicktime file then importing it back in. The audio and video will be mixed down and stay together.

Another method would be to create a bin for the synced clips and then just duplicate the sequence, put it in the new bin and use it like a clip. Or from the synced clip create a nested sequence, and then use it like a clip.

This would keep you from having to export and import extera media. But you would not be able to delete the footage & audio that you used like you would with how Zaniac suggested.

Two ways that are effective. If you used a slate, you can set an in point on your video and then do the same on your audio files. Then highlight the clips (audio and video) and use the Merge function. Tell it to sync by in point when the window pops up asking what you want to do. It will then create a new clip.

Or, edit video into timeline and sync the audio right there in the timeline. Then highlight the clip and it's newly synched audio and link them. "Command L" Then drag the clip into a new bin and it will copy it with the audio and video as one clip.
