Hi all.
Say I record direct in to my DVX with a lav, and use both channels set to differing levels to take care of any possible clipping. I also record with an Oktiva (or any other mic) into another digital recorder.
What if I like the sound of both of them put together? It seems working in Vegas since you are working either in 23.976 or 29.976, your audio tracks "snap" to the nearest frame. The result is a slight echo, because the audio tracks can not be lined up exactly. They are close, but even 1/30 of a second is very obvious.
Is there any way around this? A way where I can shift one audio track by only a few milliseconds to line up perfectly? I'm pretty sure programs like Audition could do it, maybe Sound Forge or Acid, but I'de prefer to stay in Vegas.
I realize you probably wouldn't want to go this route for audio, but if you ever had more than 2 mics during a scene, you would need at least 2 recorders, and it would become necessary. Plus the bonus of being able to fade the levels of different mics for mood would be a boon as well.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Matt
