I'm not really sure if this is a Vegas issue or not, but here goes...
I have a roughly 50 minute project I've rendered as MPEG2 video (widescreen NTSC template) and an AC3 audio file. In DVD Architect, this ends up being about 4 seconds out of sync with the audio starting early. After some testing, I tried to just export the audio as a WAV file, and found the exact same sync issue. What's even stranger is if I take the rendered video and WAV file into Vegas again, the sync is perfect. It's only out of sync in Architect. I also have one other project, about 15 minutes long, done with some of the same video sources and output with the same settings that has perfect sync in Architect..
I really don't get it. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm on Vegas Pro 8, and Architect version (I think) 4.5.
Right now, I'm going to try rendering to a DVD file with muxed audio in already, and see if that has the same sync issues, but it was just so perplexing I thought I'd see if anyone had any idea what the deal was.
Edit to add: I just tried rendering it with the same settings, only not as separate files this time. Now the sync is perfect. I don't like doing this, of course, since this means the audio has to be doubly compressed. But if I can't figure something out soon, I'm going to be forced to. Very frustrating.
