sync audio/workflow question

So I'm shooting on a DSLR and recording audio on the zoo H4N. I love it. Great picture and great sound.

I can drag the video clips into the timeline and sync the audio up manually using a clapperboard. It's time consuming but not TOO bad. Anyway. I'm happy with the results. Lovely synced video/audio.

My problem is I then have ALL of my newly synced media in the timeline.. When it comes to the actual editing... This is a bit of a nightmare for me. I'm so used to editing out of the BINS and using the preview monitor...

So my question is... is there are way in CS5 to get all my synced up media off the timeline and back into a BIN for normal editing? I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it outside of re-rendering all the synced media and then editing those renders..

That can't be the only option? Can it? The only other way I can think of it maybe putting each and every synced up video clip in it's own sequence and then edit those sequences... But that too seems like a really long way to go for what seems like it could be a hell of a lot simpler..

Anyway. hope you guys can help..

Give this piece of software a try. It should auto line up your audio files for you in the timeline.

I'm not sure if it's going to be your ideal workflow of replacing the audio in the original file.

When I had to do a dual audio system edit in Premiere, I would sync all the takes with the audio in a seperate Timeline, and the nest the timelines as if they were clips. This was pretty buggy in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and the project could only be so large. I had to split it up into 15 minute chunks doing this.

Good Luck.

cheers for the reply mate.

To be honest I'm kind of shocked that Adobe has no real solution for this. With DSLR video exploding I'm sure more and more people will be shooting
separate
audio... to have no real
work flow
for dealing
with this just seems.. madness.
