sync audio on timeline, and THEN???? i need a way to organize hopefully w/o export!

So I have my footage and audio from separate sources synced in the timeline. I'm NOT ASKING HOW TO DO THAT, i'm talking about the next step.

Usually I have a sequence where I match up all the clips from a roll. I might call it SYNC ROLL A. Which looks like this...

syncIssue_1.jpg

I CAN edit my features/shorts now by searching through this sequence and cutting out the pieces that I need (which i've done in the past)

But then i'm completely ignoring the A/B video windows.

I want to take each of those synced pieces and make it its own clip, (it MUST maintain the correct timecode so i'm afraid to re-export into synced clips).

Can I somehow make a subclip? that will link these two together and allow me to organize these synced visual/audio clips and use my two video windows?

thank you very much in advance!

i figured out how! once I have them properly synchronized, i can just select the video and audio, and cmd+L and link them. i do that for all of them, and then i cmd+A to select all and click and drag everything in the timeline to the library, and it says "creating master clips" this is exactly what i needed!

I have not done tests yet with EDL exports with regards to separate audio and video timecodes, hopefully this works properly

The EDL export should be fine as long as your timecode points back to your audio tracks. Probably will need to do separate EDLs for video and audio.

I use the A/B timelines...:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

To be more precise, i set 2 sequences, and open them on 2 windows. I do the same with the Canvas. I open 2 Canvases.
So i have a timeline with all the footage, with markers to divide the sections.
The other timeline is the Editing canvas.

With this setting i have the A/B monitors and have all the footage at my fingertips.
It rocks!
