SXSW Festival

OK so I was thinking of entering my future short films into SWSW but had a question I hope someone on here can answer: When you enter your film into SXSW can the film previously been shown or entered at another festival? Or does the SWSW have to be the first and only festival it's entered at at the time. Like when you show your short at SWSW, does that time have to be the premiere of your short? Thanks

That's their preference but I know there's been exception. Most shorts that I was involved with had been showed at small student festivals or 48 Hour contests, etc.

If in doubt just be ambiguous!

They don't have a premiere requirement. I know this from my recent entry and rejection from the fest.:smile:

yeah someone emailed me from the SXSW and for shorts they dont have to be a premiere.
