Switching Tape Stock?

I'm shooting a project for a friend. Typically, I've been shooting Sony stock. For his project he's decided to go with the Panny MQ stock. My understanding is that the Sony stock is "wet' and the Panny is "dry." So we ran the Panny head cleaner through the camera. Our camera test showed no issues. So I'm left with a delima - my camera is pretty new (only a couple Sony tapes through it) but my deck - well, it's pretty much only seen Sony stock.

Is simply running the "dry" Panny cleaner through the camera and deck sufficient to allow me to swap back and forth, or do I need to commit to one stock or another? If so, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I would commit to one stock. You're not going to want to have to clean your heads that often. That's just wearing your heads more than necessary.

Re: Switching Tape Stock?

In a related question, I'm getting a cheap mini dv cam that I'll use mainly for capturing to edit. I've got a bunch of tapes some different stocks than the recommended MQs. If I use the other tapes in my capture camera, does anyone think that it'll spoil the panasonic tapes? I wouldn't want to risk putting dry tapes into a camera that's been tainted with wet ones then back into my dvx. Am I being too anal about this?
