Just grabbed a 10.2 Gbps Ultra 1000 HDMI cable so that my Pioneer HDTV and Pioneer Blu-ray player can make some sweet, sweet lovin

Please allow me to be the first to congratulate you on behalf of everyone on this forum.

This truely is a remarkable acheivment.

:-P haha

Good move. What do you mean on the "huge sound system" comment? Its still a digital signal - I have a rather large 5.1 system being fed with a $5 cable that sounds identical to my $100 monster cable (I think everyone has bought at least one of them!).

Well, from what I read (at the link and upon further research), when the cord length starts to extend past a certain mark (say, 12ft), having a more expensive cord matters. This could come into play depending on how your system is set up. Also, there was mention about certain kinds of equipment (sub woofer, etc) that seemed to require higher end cables? Just repeating what I read...

Regardless, the primary reason why I returned the cord was finding out that my super-awesome Pioneer TV is a generation too late and so is only 1080i. It's a plasma, so better for overall color and blacks, etc. Best brand without a doubt. But when it comes to Blu-rays (just about the only thing in 1080p format), I'm not getting quite the same picture as 1080p -- though how it can get any better is beyond me. It's already better than the picture in the movie theater. And even with the interlaced, football looks ridiculously awesome.

ANYway...
