SWEET ON BOARD CAM LIGHT FOR DOCS

You know what....I'm really happy with this light. For the money I spent, its worth it. Now, to get the batteries and the charger will rack up a few extra bucks, but all said and done, I think it might be the cheapest thing out there. The batteries I believe are the same as what goes on a PD 150. Anyway, the batteries last 9 hours or so. I have two of them. This light is sweet. I just taped on two layers of silk. I VERY HAPPY with the results. Its not over powering at all. You have two options on this light. Switch it to 1x (for one light) or 2x (to power up both lights.) Again, it runs of its own independent battery system. Here is the link:

Re: SWEET ON BOARD CAM LIGHT FOR DOCS

Thanks for the review ... I've been looking at this unit for the past couple of days ... and thanks to your positive review I just ordered mine ---

I've got an old half working Sony TRV9, which was my first miniDV cam, which uses the same batts as the PD 150's and a charger - so with some shmutz on the front I should be good to go with my 100a/sony hell light combo !

spelunking anyone ?

Re: SWEET ON BOARD CAM LIGHT FOR DOCS

I've used that light a couple of times. When we shot an episode of the British series "Travel Sick", that was indeed all the lighting the guys brought with 'em! Works well, it's cheap, and it puts out a decent amount of light. The onboard battery thing is the best. For DVX users, if you get the Lenmar Mach 1 Alpha speed charger, it includes plates for both the Panasonic and the Sony batteries so you can charge Sony batteries without having to get a separate Sony charger.

Got a pic of your rig, lordofmetropolis? Are you mounting a mic too?

Re: SWEET ON BOARD CAM LIGHT FOR DOCS

wow, i always figured for that price it was a piece of crap!

great to know because i still have two monster sony batteries that will fit that!

i have a mini-frezzi but the battery issue is a pain. i had sucked it up and ordered the extra long runtime lithium ion battery belt but NRG went and discontinued it while i was waiting for it on backorder.

next time i'm filling my shopping cart online i'll throw one of these in there!
