Yay -- so I hooked a tower I had lying around into my 43 inch plasma in the living room. The tower doesn't have HDMI, so I had to go with a speaker jack with red/white audio -- still, good enough more most of what's on the internet. And I can't even tell you guys how nice it is to be able to sit on the couch with a wireless keyboard and mouse while surfing. Heck, I always thought it was awesome that I get to work from home -- now I get to work from my couch? Too awesome for words...

If any of you have the opprotunity to set up a second computer with your TV -- do it!! Even though the machine I'm using is an old ass Pentium 4 Dell, I dropped an extra gig of RAM in there and its perfect for watching short films and Exposure Room and Hulu stuff.

And it's GREAT to see how well some of these cameras we use hold up on the big screen! I was watching some D90 and EX1 footage over in Exposure Room and it was just beautiful.

So awesome...

best way to do it, right chamber. i've actually been doing this since the first time i got a video card with composite and svideo outputs on it years ago. only back then you couldn't really surf the web or do anything that had text or reading involved because the resolution of the tv was not what it is now. so i used to use my 36inch crt tv as my playback monitor to watch videos and stuff.
btw what kind of work do you do if you dont mind me asking
im in chicago also. more like park ridge niles glenview area. nice to see fellow chicagoans (if thats even a word) on here.

With the size of my television screen, when there's a close up on words I'm supposed to read it's usually too small to tell what they say. And you know what? That's the way I like it. It adds a lot of mystery and excitement to the work when you can't read anything and have to guess if that thing in the background is a house or maybe a family of ducks.

Yeah, the second I had it all hooked up and was watching shows and stuff online I'm like, "This...is the most amazing lifestyle change EVER! Everyone should be doing this!!"

As far as what I do...HMMMMMMM...Well, I guess I do it all, right? I'm actually working on a SUPER SECRET project right now. We're kicking it off this July. It'll either be huge or completely confusing -- either way, we're having a blast.

But yeah, although I'm kind of heavily drowning in pre-production stuff right now, once we're actually launched and moving forward, maybe we can link up. My friends and I are pretty selective about the people we let into our wierd little world -- not selective like friggin junior high and jordans, just selective in that we only allow thoroughly positive and encouraging artists to walk through the front door, ya know? If you're a positive dude and want to be a part of some interesting new media stuff, like I said, maybe we can link up sometime here in Chicago.

What sort of stuff are you into? Cameras? Design? Sound? Directing?
