Noiz2 Sound Ninja Aug 9, 2010 #2 I would look for a Garage Band forum to ask the question. You will probably get more responses. If I had to guess I would say your MIDI mapping is off. Just because you have a wire running to the computer doesn't mean the software is listening.

G gpforet Well-known member Aug 9, 2010 #4 Don't know about garageband, but in sonar, when setting up the configuration for the midi channel being polled, you have to manually check the box for velocity, aftertouch, and expression. Without checking these boxes, sustain didn't work.
