Susperia

This movie is a MUST SEE. Dario Argento is my favorite horror director. The images he conjurs up in his films are beautiful, evan the violent death scenes. I love the zany lighting they used in this movie. As well as its sequal Inferno.

By the way, did you know that he is currently filming the long awaited second sequal to this movie completing the trilogy?

Other films by Argento you guys must check out are Deep Red, Tenebre, Phenomena, and Opera.

Sorry for the quick reply, I have a class in 2 minutes. I could talk abouth this movie as well as other Argento works for hours. Anyone else a fan?

I don't understand why people like this movie. It doesn't make any sense. It's just a bunch of kooky scenes strung together. And the entire thing is terribly dubbed. Not one line is onset sound. But people like it for this very reason I believe. If you like your movies to make sense, don't see this movie.

It's a moot point considering all Italian films were dubbed (due to having international casts) up until the early 1990s.

Anyway, yea, the imagery in that film is beautiful, and I love Argento's use of color symbolism.

And yes, The Beyond by Lucio Fulci is excellent if you're into that sort of thing.

Suspiria is a classic, a benchmark for visual stylists, and completely un-rivaled in its concept and execution.

If you watch that film and cannot see why it's a classic, then the problem is within you, not with the film.

All too often the true classics are sullied because they don't tow the line in the dregs of what is common or traditional.

I'm a huge Argento nerd. I love this movie and I can't wait to see him wrap up the 3 Mothers Trilogy with "Mother of Tears."

Argento is great at making horrible scenes (acts of violence) look beautiful.

The driving music by Goblin always helps flesh-out the vivid visuals into a type of "Horror Rock Opera."
