Suspending Kino tubes in mid-air

I'm lighting a 50 foot by 40 foot stage against black drapes.

Part of the set design is bare Kino tubes of various lengths suspended perfectly vertical in mid-air.
We're thinking of using trick line from the grid and fishing line taped to the floor.
There won't be anyone in post painting out wires.

If there's a better way to make the tubes look like they're suspended in mid-air ideas would be appreciated.

alligator clips, lots of and lots of high strength alligator clips..

Just kidding.

You can buy clear tubes that the flos will slide right into and power them up at the end of the clear tube. Then just suspend clear tube somehow, but you still will have electrical wires going to them so not sure if they'd be visible or not.
