Wow I am loving this season so far. Russell is the man and JT's "brilliant" move was such good entertainment, hilarious stuff.

Also, it is shot really well. Anyone know what cameras they're using? They're spectacular, especially in the testimonial vids.

If anyone hasn't seen it, there's good examples on this page: http://survivorsucks.yuku.com/topic/49735/t/Blistering--uploading-survivor-extra-clips.html?page=89

Any of those of just 1 person talking, you can see that beautiful DOF. It looks really nice on my HDTV for the actual broadcasts.

I agree this season has been far better then I expected... but it has chipped away at my appreciation for Russell rather then reinforce it. I could have watched Russell or Rob... but I do think Russell is one of the best players ever for entertainment. That guy is practically "mr. survivor"... I'll bet anything that he'll be some sort of frequent-flyer on the show... or there'll be a show spin-off featuring him.

I wondered about the cam used myself... it's probably something full-sized and of course HD... in 2/3"... my guess for THAT part of the show would be something like a Sony PDW-700 ($30K cam).

I think XDCAM is one of the more popular field production formats right now... hence my guess on that camera.

Definitely an interesting season of Survivor. But I was sad to see Rob go. Watching him and Russell fight it out, until the end, would have made for some entertaining television.
