Surprised it took this long: video game-engine movie

Cool. Who needs a camera! For that matter, who needs lights, sound, crew, or actors?

I'm going to be rich!!!!!

Haven't you seen Red vs Blue? The definiate video game shorts they are funny and well done for using the limited movements of the Halo game.

I have seen that, yes. But it is not the video game, it's the man BEHIND the video game that matters.

i used to play a game called "america's army" and i have this program called fraps. it allows you to capture footage as avi's. i always wanted to make a short film with it, but ended up only doing short music videos.

That's a good question John. I've been looking for cheap storyboarding/pre-viz software. It sure would be nice if this would suffice. I think we need to ask the pre-viz expert, Mr. Rich Lee.

Actually, it's not just a series of shorts - the shorts all string together to make a cohesive feature about 75minutes in length (for the first season).
Pretty ingenious.

Believe it or not they sold out Lincoln center last year when they screened it.

I'm checking it out now

I bought it at $39.99 and am digging it. I'm doing a campaign at 1925 and the music and vibe is really fun

cool John - once you've got it down post some stuff.
i'd love to see what you can get out of it.

40 bucks is a previz budget i can afford!

Not sure if I'd dig that.
Might make me feel like i'm about to get knifed by a cross dressing freak ... or get gunned down by crop duster.

games should be relaxing.

LOL

I'm enjoying it so far; but I'm still trying to figure out 'How to make a film' with it.....................

I figured I could make some bizarre films with it or at least some twisted Previz

------

Currently; I'm unlocking some level's , creating stars, making lil films (the comp is) and making cash.......................

As time goes by, you open production facilities. Advanced Scriptwriting or something like that is the one you're looking for. Only played for a few days back in November, but I think that's the one where you can actually make the movie scene by scene.

I also bought it last week along with the cheat book...to get to the Advanced Filmmaking you have to have the Post Production Facility and the Advanced Screenwriting facility.

Also on Monday I will post a crack on how to unlock all the scenes and costumes within the Advanced Filmmaking.

There is also a team working on providing a tool for importing 3D geometry from Max and Blender....your 3D skills are gonna pay off soon John.

This little game looks pretty useful.

There are issues with getting enough enviroments...but I am sure Lion Head Studio is going to add a ton more environs and characters over the next 6 months.
