Support gear or no... I need help

Hey, I work for a guy named asaqwerty (you can check him out at asaqwerty.com and http://www.youtube.com/asaqwerty) and I just thought it would be cool if there was a way to make a flying rig for actors.

I know that there's alot of dangers involved with making one myself as opposed to buying one, but I just thought it would be cheaper. So I hopped on the internet and a google search for references is a dead end. I was wondering if someone here could help me out with making a flying rig for actors.

Yeah... but I sorta need to find a way to make a homemade one, and so far I have not had any luck with detailed pictures and such.

A home made rig that can support someones weight, including a series of pulleys, wires, tracks etc? Sounds like a SAW movie to me!

Hopefully if I can make this rig myself I can use it for WAY cooler things than that. I just can't find reference pictures for other wire rigs that will give me a better idea on how they did it.

Wirework involves a lot more than just equipment, skilled operators are a big part of the equation. You need to talk to someone professional about this. If not an industry professional at least go talk to some mountain climbing guys. And an insurance guy. Methinks someone's gonna get hurt...

I plan to test this with weights before using people on it so I know it can function AND hold the weight. If I build this myself, I should have enough knowledge on how this works to be able to operate it myself. I'm going to make sure that it is very, very safe before anyone attempts to get in it. But pictures of other wire rids and such would be nice to have as references. Does anyone know where I can find some?

I try to do a lot of DIY work on all of my productions. Build my own lighting, shoulder rigs, backdrops sets whatever. I am even an experience climber with lots of harness work in that field
BUT I would NEVER take on wire work without help of a pro. You are putting peoples lives in your hands when you do wire work. You slip up and things can go very wrong very fast.

Use caution my friend and good luck.

Thank you. I definately am going to need it. But could someone help me find reference photos of other wire rigs so it can help me in designing this?
